Finished my first week of IV rocephin using PICC!

I finished my first week of 2 grams of IV rocephin 5 days on 2 days off.

No major herx. Just a little more tired and weak, but nothing too bad. This week I add.....IV flagyl 2 times a week and oral rifampin 5 times a week. And some oral nystatin just for fun and IV glutathione for detox. Yay.

9 months of orals did nothing for me at all. Herbs did absolutely nothing for me at all. But....I'm glad I at least tried that route first. Llmd's both said (I have two llmd's) I have zero chance of recovery without long term IV abx. The neuro stuff is just too embedded and IV is necessary.

Congratulations, Utah!! That's really wonderful!!!

Although you should likely not add in 2 more things in the same week - that could really hit you hard. I would suggest only adding in one more thing this week and then the other one next week. But I'm sure glad you are going to be getting the IV glutithione! I'm sure that will be very helpful.

And a word about the IV vs any other form of treatment - believe me it's not a matter of how deeply embedded the bacteria are in the nervous system that determines that - or I would have had to have IV treatments as well. I had severe neuro symptoms for the last 10 years at least that I was sick. It's a matter of what your body will work with. Nobody can change that and that's why we have to keep trying things until we find out what does work for our body.

Hey utah!! We are still on the same path lol!! I just finished my 3rd week of iv rocephin. I'm going to be getting a picc soon and I'm terrified lol how was it getting it put in?

I do 4 days on 3 days off. I'm not doing much else in the way of killing. Mostly just trying to get my nausea under control so I stop puking so much. Lots and lots of detox.

Wow… good luck Utah gal!

Hope you make good progress… but I also strongly agree with Traveler—I would incorporate only one thing at a time. First, you just don't know what you're in for when you start a new phase of treatment and if you make good progress with penetrating the blood/brain barrier, you could herx at any moment (my first month w/ Rocephin was very rough). Also, it makes it a little easier to process information through your reactions by pinpointing what happens in-between adding new things.

Also, slowly increase detox if you can….
