Hey everyone - just thought I'd share a really positive experience.
I just got back from vacation in North Carolina - and I did vacation like a champ! I did NOT feel like a sick person for a whole week, just a healthy person who happened to have trouble walking on a messed up foot but that may not actually be lyme related anyway.
I walked around a ton, went to restaurants, did some swimming in the ocean, was out in the heat without getting sick, slept less than 8 hours every night (sometimes only 2 or 3) and still had plenty of energy to enjoy the day!
I feel/felt so blessed to be able to enjoy a vacation without feeling miserably sick, without having to accommodate - plus while I was on the beach I was reading "Lyme Light" by Natalie London which reminded me of how bad lyme used to be for me...I'm getting better, and that's pretty awesome.
Starting to think that if i can get my foot and back pain under control and then calm down my GI issues I might be able to literally get back on my feet soon!
Just thought you could all use a little optimism. Coping with symptoms daily and all the stress and emotions that go along with it I think can sometimes blind us to the progress we've made. But it would appear I've made some :)

Hell yeah! this makes me so happy to hear, thank you for sharing borderline. Brings much needed joy.
Sometimes I get a little bent out of shape with anger when it comes to lyme. Which you all know ain't hard to do given how majorly we are and have been screwed and our experiences denied!

NC beaches are the best! I hope you stayed on Hatterras Island where the beaches are pristine. My last trip there I was so sick I spent all but one day in bed.
We haven't been back since. At least with WDW, I can rent a motor scooter and have a fairly normal trip. At the beach, it was constant physical endurance, sun was too much and heat too much.
Hope you continue to have good Days,
Kim

Bringing this back up because it's such great news! I'm so so happy for you borderlyme...I know it's been a long haul for you, as it has for me...
I'm doing better too, feeling less stress and noticeably less symptoms because of that.. I don't think I knew how much stress was taking a toll on me...ugh... Finally sleeping great again, peaceful... Swimming... Happy.
There is light at the end of the tunnel, hang in there guys:)
