The interesting thing is - Naturopathic Dr's don't usually treat ailments with antibiotics...they try to do everything with herbs, diet, supplements, etc.
BUT, here in BC, Canada...the ND's are licensed (if they apply) to treat with antibiotics...and many have chosen to do so for Lyme disease.
So, although I am treated by a ND, I am on antibiotics...along with herbs.
But, you must know that...as that is why you're choosing to go to B.C., right? Is it Ontario you are from? I know it's a Province that doesn't license the ND's to prescribe antibiotics - but can't remember if it's Ontario you are from.
So, how are you getting the antibiotics in the meantime?
My ND is ILADS trained...so he has learned what the MD's have learned. He has helped many people heal in the past several years...and has a lot of experience.
And, from researching, and also being on this forum, you learn pretty quickly what the options are for treatment. There is some trial and error, too. Some people respond to a certain protocol, but others don't...so it has to be changed.
Also, a good Dr. will change the protocol if there is no response after a certain length of time...or if the improvement has plateaued.
