Sudden onset severe arthritis

Sounds almost like dehydration. When you can't open a fist, it's usually because potassium has depolarized the membrane and a decrease in sodium and/or water keep the membrane from repolarizing. I'd start by trying to increase water and sodium intake.

I've seen reports of others with those symptoms and it turned out to be Lyme.

And turmeric, while it does take a few weeks to start helping noticeably for me, it works well to reduce the inflammation that is happening.

And my doc had me get arnica gel and DMSO (just a few drops) and mix them together in my hands, and then rub it into the affected joints to help relieve the pain quickly.

Hi Y. Sorry to hear of another Lyme battle in your family. I thought of Aloe Vera Juice like Lily of the desert brand. I used to take it a long time ago for a while there and I really don't remember why I stopped taking it, but I am going to start adding it back into my regime as I am definitely getting worse now. It might help him - worth a try. I do remember it does help with muscle and joint pains and supposed to strengthen immune function, digestive issues among other beneficial things. I think, from memory, one can take up to 200 mls. a day ( spread out during the day.). Hang in there and keep the Faith.

Travelor- thx yes he's taking tons of turmeric.. Thx for other tips. Yah we're 95% sure its Lyme. He'll be bttr soon since we're catching it so early, but can you believe we have to deal with this again? Ugh... Leave our family alone stupid bCteria. How have you been? How r u doing Travelor?

Actually, it's not surprising. This forum is slow right now, but it wasn't that long ago that we were getting at least a couple of new members a day and posts for each day were all going clear to page 3! These infections will continue to spread at eye popping speeds until the 'powers that be' see fit to actually acknowledge them and do something to help out, I'm afraid.

I'm doing pretty well!! Thank you for asking!! I'm still dealing with the aftermath of having these infections for 40 yrs, but that doesn't mean life isn't good!!

These past 4 years have been particularly the worst because it has been affecting my brain/head/eyes/heart and digestion more than ever before. My children who are young adults now have grown up watching me battle this horrible disease and they are the most compassionate,affectionate, understanding, helpful and patient young adults I have ever met. God Bless our family members who are in this thing with us and who lift us up every time we are at our lowest points.
