Of COURSE you had trouble! You're like a magnet for complications. :( Glad you got it done, though. And I'm sorry and should have mentioned this but yes, you can feel pretty beat up for awhile. I don't know if it was just me or the lyme infection or if maybe I did something wrong, but I was swollen and sore and sensitive or nearly 2 mos. after I had my port installed. When the nurses would come and access me (punch the IV needle into my chest) it would be so painful and would hurt for days... and they told me it shouldn't hurt (and therefore it doesn't really hurt so it must have all been psychosomatic)... *@&^#**
Anyway, as w/ most procedures, the surgeons treat your body roughly, like they're a mechanic and you're an engine they're tinkering around w/ as a hobby. And your tissues go through hell. Just take it easy and if you don't already, implement a good remedy for anti inflammatory like Japanese Knotweed.
