the picc placement bruised my whole chest :(

I wasn't feeling any better so my family out of concern forced me to call. I talked to the lady who placed it and I'm actually really glad to ease my mind. I was beginning to worry because my chest hurts so bad it's waking me up at night and I can't breath.

She said skinny people sometimes have a harder time. It's not common but it can happen to get pretty beat up. My luck of course. She said the placement for me wasn't easy at all and because they had me on the table in that awkward position for so long she's not surprised I'm hurting.

I guess it can take 6 weeks for your body to adjust. I'm just a big bruise. Oy. She said sometimes you can feel the vasoconstriction especially if you're really small. So. Wow.

I'm happy that it's nothing serious. But very sad I just have to wait a few weeks for it to go away. I'm not really a wuss about stuff but this is really bothering me. I cannot get comfortable and I'm super grumpy from my already crappy sleep being compromised. I'm annoying myself being so whiny.

Lots of heat and ice is all I can really do to hopefully make it heal faster. I had no idea this could even happen. I really thought hitting my nerve was the bad thing that happened and I'd be in the clear lol. Apparently that wasn't enough! I think it's especially bad because I've had a fever the last few weeks off and on and that makes everything feel a lot worse.

Whyyyyyyyyyyyy does cap like this ALWAYS happen to me?! I have the worst luck I swear. And yes, I feel very sorry for myself lol!!!!!

Hahaha my guy said the same thing! He watched it and got to take pictures and he said "geez they work on you like you're a car!". Although the ladies were really nice they still screwed me up big time! They did compliment me and make me feel really tough. They said most people after hitting a nerve just come back a different day and don't stick it through. I don't know if they were just trying to make me feel better or what lol.

I feel like I got in a car wreck and the seat belt killed my chest. I didn't realize my line went all the way across my chest. Oy. I need to throw that dang magnet away!!!! Way too many complications.

But the line works beautifully and it's a little higher up on my bicep so it's not in my way at all. A Tshirt can keep it covered up and out of the way of my son quite well. He's still jumped on my arm a few times though and that really doesn't help. But he's been really gentle since, fast learner lol. My infusions went really well this week.

On Tuesday I switch to clindamycin. My doctor doesn't like the rashes I'm getting while on rocephin. I hope it's not expensive I should probably try and get a ballpark price.

And another good thing my insurance actually covered my picc!!!!! And they are covering dressing changes! I'm still having my mother in law do them just so I don't have to go anywhere. But that was a relief to not have to fork over a couple grand.

He's very squeamish. He started turning green when they were hitting the nerve lol. I got my hand mangled by a dog once and he passed out and it took them so long to get him conscience again I couldn't get stitches hahahaha!! Poor guy! He sure is a trooper through all this.

If I described the past couple of wks honestly it would be just a bunch of four letter "****".
So, I'll just say it sucked. And I'm exhausted. but recovering.
