Dr j in DC

Ok y'all, it's official. I'm going to see dr. J in dc in early October. Since my anxiety is at an all time high, I'll be driving there from Chicago (10-11ish hours), yikes!

I finally feel like I'll be in great hands and with an LLMD that I trust. Yes, he's expensive but I need to get myself better before I can really focus on my son (my 4 year old son was dx with Lyme 2 weeks ago - he will be seeing dr b in Waukesha, wi in about 2 weeks).

I did a search for info on dr j and dc/travels on this site but wasn't able to find a lot of info on travel tips or anything. I hope this is ok to ask but does anyone have any advice on where to stay or eat that's reasonable?!

& yes, my boyfriend will be taking this journey with me (& by that I mean driving me, lol). I've been checking groupon too, maybe I'll find a deal there but DC is expensive and dr j is already super expensive lol

I live outside of DC and as you know, see this doctor. You can find deals, but generally it is more expensive to stay downtown (like anywhere else). I recommend looking in Arlington or Alexandria, VA.
