Last week I went to my LLDO armed with several options for my next steps in my treatment. According to the last Ispot Lyme test, the numbers have not moved. [1-17 negative, 18-24 equivocal 25 - up positive] I went from a 31-32. Ha! He said, it basically did not move. although I was able to do more, my other symptoms had not improved.
My doc had suggested several times switching to the Cowden protocol. Nevertheless I printed Buhner as well Traveler's protocol and left it with him. He then mentioned he was rereading Horowitz's book. He told me that he would call with what he had decided.
To my surprise, he went with a change up in my antibiotics! He subtracted one and added doxy. I thought, "really? been there done that." I wasn't sure what to expect. So on my lunch hour I picked up my refills and took them with my lunch. A very short time later my back began to hurt and my head get that buzzy feeling you can get with a herx. I am supposed to take another doxy before bed. I don't think so!
I am traveling tomorrow with my job and am electing to ramp up slowly. I am really surprised that doxy is having an effect on me. I traveled to Africa once and added it to my meds as an antimalarial -- nothing. But this feels like if I take any more, I will be in bed. Go figure!! I m gonna go home and get in a hot bath!
