Pins and needles as abx side effect?

Has anyone gotten periferal neuropathy as a result of abx rather then lyme or coinfections? I have been in treatment pretty much from the very moment my bulls eye rush appeared in the end of July. 5 weeks of doxy, then 4 weeks of Ceftin, now a week ago started back on Doxy and pulsing Biaxin and Flagyl. On top of that I took a month of Samento/Banderol at full doses, then switched to Bruhner's cat's Claw and Bart protocol for economic reasons. Aside from mild fatigue and tinnitus ( this one started in March, so before the Lyme ) I had no other obvious symptoms until now. I can't pinpoint exactly when it started, but it has definitely gotten more severe the last few days.
With all of the treatment I never had any herx reaction, so I don't believe this one is either, but I might be wrong.
Any thoughts? Should I try stopping the abx for a few days to see what happens? I can call my LLMD but most likely he will just tell me to stick it out, but I am not sure if I might be causing any permanent damage if I do.
Any input from you knowledgable people is greatly appreciated.

I developed peripheral neuropathy on doxy/amox and I'm still dealing with it after being off abx since February. It's really my only issue.

I can't say that the abx are to blame. IMHO, the peripheral neuropathy represents a bit of healing from the numbness I developed in my lower legs after going off doxy ala my PCP (my signature provides more details).

The neuropathy has improved but is still there.

Since your treatment has been switched around quite a bit, there's a good chance it stirred things up with your nervous system and this is manifesting in your peripheral neuropathy...

You're really not taking any abx known to cause peripheral neuropathy - it's the fluroquinones (Cipro, Levaquin, etc.) that are most likely to cause it.

can flagyl cause neuropathy? may have read that somewhere.

I haven't been on flagyl, but was taking biaxin and was getting neuropathy that waxed and waned along with my other usual herx symptoms. I figured it was hitting pathogen in the nerves or some such thing. I had to stop the med as it got really bad, the neuropathy has been waning but it is taking quite a long time (over one month).

It sounds like a herx to me, as I don't think that's a common drug side effect.

sebreg is right - flagyl can cause neuropathy. Google Flagyl and peripheral neuropathy a bit and you'll see.

JoJoNY - you might want to think really hard about just when the peripheral neuropathy started. Do you maintain a symptoms/meds record of some sort? It can really help at times such as this...

Thanks for your input. I had a symptoms log at the very beginning of treatment, but I stopped writing it down as my symptoms disappeared, this one kind of started slowly and I didn't notice at first, but it could be corresponding to starting Flagyl.
For now I will continue with the treatment paying more attention to my symptoms. I take Flagyl 4 days, then Biaxin 3 days. if it's Flagyl causing this should I notice any difference on my Biaxin days or does the effect is long lasting?
I will be calling my doctor tomorrow to see what he says.
