Hi Gfields!
Welcome to our community!! I'm so glad you found us.
As has been suggested, please do read through our "New to Lyme? Start here!" thread that sits at the top of the forum. It's packed with very helpful information.
As for your LLMD, not all are created equal. Sorry. But we all know that some doc's are better than others, and if yours is looking only at test results, then they aren't going to be very effective. Even the CDC acknowledges that we have to be diagnosed clinically: "Lyme disease is diagnosed based on symptoms, physical findings (e.g., rash), and the possibility of exposure to infected ticks. Laboratory testing is helpful if used correctly and performed with validated methods."
www.cdc.gov/lyme/ Your story sounds very similar to mine, except I was infected for 40 years before finding an effective protocol to heal from these infections. Hang in there, I'm proof that even the long held infections can be healed!! It takes a lot of work, but it can be done!
As others have mentioned, detoxing is a
huge part of us being able to heal. As these bacteria die off, they leave behind endotoxins, which can build up in the body, especially if you have a gene mutation that prevents the body from detoxing well - and many of us have this - but it doesn't mean we can't heal.
So can you tell us what all you are doing to help your body detox? It would be very helpful as we really can't emphasize the importance of detoxing enough.
