Odor Issues

For the past couple of years, I've been having some bad smells. I can't really describe them and they change throughout the day but I definitely have something going on. I don't think it's body odor because my wife says she can't smell anything. Also, when I wear my CPAP machine, the smell is still there so I'm pretty sure it's internal.

It sometimes wakes me up in the middle of the night and I can't sleep.

Some thoughts are maybe a sinus infection (although I've been on Lyme antibiotics for over a year) or maybe some involvement with the Olfactory Nerve. I've had a couple bouts with Bells Palsy so couldn't the Olfactory Nerve get inflamed as well?

I had an MRI of the brain done about a year ago and that was clear so I'm not really worried about a tumor or anything like that.

I guess my question is that if anyone else has or is experiencing this? I haven't really read that this is part of Lyme so I wanted to see how common it is.

Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated.

I went through a whole range of smells: cat pee, bleach, burnt smell, sweet smells, dead animal, ...

I can't count the times I walked around my house like a sniffing dog, trying to find out where the smell came from. Outside, inside, on my knees, opening cupboards, doors.

I know what it is now, as long as hubby doesn't smell a thing, I ignore it.

Oh yes, that dead thing smell....the merry hours trying to track down the non existant culprit, lol.

And gasoline smells like cherry sweets. Go figure, lol.

LOL! Yes, you do want to be careful as to who you tell about certain symptoms!! My hubby had a wonderful time at my expense at times! But we both got a good laugh about it later.
