2nd Lyme infection worse than first...

My first Lyme infection was from 1992, it gave me mild to severe, to debilitating problems over the course of 10 years, progressively. This new infection, June 2015, happens more dramatically severe than I recall the first one... Granted I am much older now as well.

My question is if the second infection is known for being more severe more quickly? Is it like I got a booster shot of Lyme instead of just a new case?

I was healed in 2011 from Lyme and was reinfected with Lyme only in 2014, but my second go-round wasn't worse. It was actually easier, although my perspective is likely different. The first go-round was a 40 year battle.
