Babesia herxes can be harder to deal with than Lyme herxes because the Babesia parasites are bigger than Lyme spirochetes. Bigger bug debris = more symptoms.
My LLMD never mentioned detoxing to me and it seems that's not uncommon. And, no, there's never enough time at a doctor appointment - especially when Lyme & Co's are in the picture.
You know enough already to know that you should increase your detox in preparation for the new treatment....and to continue with it daily while possibly adding new things.
I had Babesia symptoms as herxes (air hunger, chest pressure, anxiety, nausea, drenching sweats) when treating for Babesia.....and I also had Lyme symptoms as herxes on Babesia herbs.
Now that I'm about 3 months into treatment (I'm treating for Lyme, Bart and Babs), I'm actually experiencing Bart herxes lately.
Overall, I'm improved - yay :)
What will you be doing for treatment? I hope you were told to start one thing at a low dose and take it for a few days before adding anything. Wash/rinse/repeat until up to maximum doses. If herxing happens, it would be prudent to go back to the dose you didn't herx on and increase detox until it passes. Then it would be appropriate to increase.
It doesn't make sense to kill ourselves while trying to kill the bugs. Herxing just slows the healing process and makes our lives more miserable.
