Hello,
I have been battling lyme disease for a long, long, time. Officially diagnosed with late stage lyme disease in October 2014. I started IV antibiotics (due to neuro symptoms) the beginning of may 2015, started with Doxycycline 2x per/day, then Rocephin 2x per/day and am now on cycling schedule of Azithromax 1x per day for a week and then Minocin 2x per/day for 1 week. Been on IV's straight since beginning of May 2015. I am feeling very week and have lost 20 pounds (I wasn't heavy too start with) from nausea and throwing up. I can hardly sleep and am in a constant high level of pain -I did have a bad car wreck in February 2015 that led to a back surgery in July 2015. I have a central venus catheter (due to not being able to tolerate picc lines in either arm). I take Tinidazole 2xday also.
Have others had extra fatigue from IV antibiotics? I'm trying to work full-time and it is taking more energy than I have and I feel like I'm going deeper in the whole every day I keep going. I don't know how much is simply the lyme and/or if I need to stop the IV treatment. I have noticed some gains in my memory since being on IV. I'm at a loss on what to do. I want to get better, but, I have limited support and over the 7 years of not being diagnosed and treatment I have lost/lost contact with a lot of my friends and I do not have a healthy biological family. I am in the midst of trying to obtain my PhD in psychology, all but dissertation for 2 years now, and am not able to make progress in current state.
