I am off most all antibiotics and starting herb treatments. When the bottle says 1-2 droppers does that mean the entire dropper full or literally 1-2 drops only????? I am basically on Buhners lyme protocol plus a couple others my llmd suggested. Thanks !!!

They mean whole droppersful but that does NOT mean this should be your starting dose....nor your ultimate dose.

Those dosing recommendations apply to a person taking just that one herb.

Herbs can pack quite the punch. In fact, I've had my worst-ever herxes on herbs....and that was after 5 months on abx.

It's best to start with 1 drop of 1 herb and wait a few days to gauge response before adding another herb.

Getting started with an entire protocol at low doses is a good idea since herbs work synergistically (they enhance the actions of each other)

When Buhner says droppers full he actually means 1 squeeze bulb full - empty the glass tube, squeeze the bulb, put the tube in the tincture and release - not the entire glass tube. So that ends up being approx. 32-35 drops.

When I started taking Buhner's protocol I took 1 herb, 1 drop, 3 x's a day. If I felt okay doing that for a couple of days then I would up to 2 drops, 3 x's a day, sometimes I would go to 5 after than. I did it slow and easy. When I got up to 1 dropper or about 1/4 teaspoon then I would start the next herb 1 drop, 3x's a day. This way if you have a reaction to an herb you know which one to stop. I was warned to go slow and easy and I am so glad I did this because I did in fact have a reaction to 2 herbs. I then just used the alternatives to those herbs.

Also, the dose on the bottles is more than Buhner's recommended doses.

Not everyone's dose is the same. Just start low, one at a time at very low dose...and titrate slowly up. You may never get to Buhner's full dose, as we are all different.

Yeah, gotta start slowly.

Either way, I'd just go by drop or teaspoon measurements, 'cause I always wonder whether or not the amount that the dropper sucks up changes, as more and more of the tincture gets used up. Like, it's not the same at the halfway mark as it is when the bottle is full?

It'd only be a difference of a few drops or so, I'm sure, but still.
