Some of you participated in a thread wherein herbal tincture maceration times were discussed.
Buhner recommends two weeks yet we were wondering what companies like Sage Woman and Woodland Essence were doing.
Well, I emailed both of them and asked how long they macerated dried herbs (since that's all most of us can buy and I know fresh herbs require different maceration times)
Woodland Essence told me "at least 30 days".
Sage Woman's response: "There are several methods used, depending on the type of herb and availability. Most are percolated using specialized lab equipment, yielding as much superior product. As far as macerations, there are only a handful , that are processed, with an average, 5 – 6 week maceration."
There you go :)
