Like others mentioned, since your low in both frees you would be a good candidate for a trial run natural thyroid with both hormones (Synthroid only has one, the T4).
I've been on thyroid med since 1997, and experimented with many brands, and some great ones no longer on the market. Armour is the 110 year old brand everyone knows about
, but if your in the US you may want to consider a better brand that is known to absorb better and costs less than half of Armour's recent price hike (they were just purchased by a greedier larger company)..
NP Thyroid by Acella Pharmaceuticals has been on the US market for about
6 years now, people love it. Price, splits well, absorbs better than Armour, and can be taken sublingually, like origional Armour with excellent results. (Note: sublingually bypasses the protein binding to T4 issue in gut, but T3 never binds to protein).
npthyroid.com/NP, Armour, Nature Throid, Westhroid, and Erfa (Canada), all use the same thyroid hormone, but have different fillers that make the performance difference. Their sizes are almost identical too, in 30, 60, 90 mg tablets that can be split or added up to crate your daily dose. NP splits, Armour falls apart.
Many insurance companies do not cover natural thyroid, 100% out of pocket to feel better. NP costs me about
$30 US for 90 days, Armour is about
double to triple that now from Walgreens. (But your starting dose would be less than mine, less $). And NP, performance wise, is more closer to pre 2009 Armour than Armour is now. Armour was reformulated in 2009 (not as good) and again slightly in 2014. It pays to ask pharmas their cash price, as different stores use different distributors, the price difference is passed on to you.
Small town pharmas may not recognize NP Thyroid yet, but they can get it, its in their computer, print the web page to show them.
get well soon (OK, better).
