Epsom Salt Bath Herx Indication of something?

I've been taking Epsom Salt Baths for months without issue but of late the last few times I've taken it I'm definitely herxing a few hours afterwards. My primary head symptoms increase dramatically for a short period of time before petering out maybe 20-30 minutes over a 2 hour span. I've never had this reaction before so am wondering has something changed with me? Is my bug load higher so I'm feeling the toxins more when they are released or killed off? My diet and medicine regimen has not changed during this time everything is the same. Thanks for any thoughts.

I cannot do the Epsom bath. I felt weak and horribly depleted. It wasn't the Epsom for me, it was the hot water. I do Epsom foot baths and no problems. But the same thing happens to me in a hot shower - I feel like someone unplugged me and I just shrivel into a blob of nothing. I have had to lower the temp on my showers or else I take the quickest shower in the world just to get out of that hot water. LOL

PeteZa - have you tried lowering the temperature of the epsom bath?

It's not supposed to be hot, just 98 degrees.(F)

Hey Traveler I've purposely kept the water temperature lukewarm due to the first time I got that reaction. I'm not tracking my diet but nothing unusual. Strange in that the last 4 times I've done the bath I've had a similar reaction a few hours later. I keep thinking I'm losing ground to the bugs and that is depressing :(

I'm going to avoid it until I see my LLMD on Tues. Its a new year and I'm not happy with his lack of attention to some areas to help me improve so its more of a mini-consultation to see if I'm going to stay with him. I do have activated charcoal, apple cider vinegar, Alka seltzer gold and drink lemon juice daily so I'll just have to rotate those in. Thanks.

yes i was to reply same thing. Especially that you seem to indicate it abruptly starts after the bath. herxes dont't kick in minutes later, first the toxins are created, then they are drained by lymph, then they get in blood stream, then the liver kidneys and spleen try hard to filter them out, and at some point are overwhelmed. certainly not in minutes.

do you have a blood pressure meter? going too hot may overwork your heart too much and that creates a bood pressure spike.

traveler that's why i'm thinking my bug load is higher than historically because i haven't reacted to it the same way in the past. or it could be my system isn't as adept at clearing them out as before. who the heck knows but the action/reaction correlation is clear so have to tone it down.

Babesia parasites are much bigger than Lyme and Bartonella bacteria.

This means larger dead bug parts when Babesia die.

Larger dead bug parts means more toxins.

Maybe your various protocols have had an additive effect with toxins generated.... and your body is at the point of toxin overload.

No matter what, an increase in symptoms during treatment is a herx. If the herx impacts life too much, it's at a level that can delay healing.

We either need to detox the herx away or temporarily step down our treatment until we return to baseline.

I learned this from others on here and following that advice brought me to where I am today. It makes sense, really.
