I'm confused. Are fermented foods different that things with yeast (like breads)?
Fermented foods would be higher in acid. Wouldn't that lead to more issues with GERD?
Is the thing here that too little acid and too much acid can cause the same symptoms?
One other thing nobody has mentioned is food sensitivities. When I took some foods out of my diet my sore throat went away. I know it was a food sensitivity because I stopped throwing up in the middle of the night after eating egg whites for example. When I stopped the egg whites, GERD slowed down, I stopped throwing up and my sore throats got better.
Sorry to add more questions,
Kim
Yes, fermented foods are very different than things that have yeast in them. While dairy products are called cultured and not fermented, the same idea applies to them as well. All dairy is not evil (LOL!), cultured dairy is actually good for us! Same with fermented foods - they actually restore the diverse bacteria in our digestive tract.
Yes, too much and too little stomach acid can cause the same symptoms. I only scanned this article, but I think it fits the bill:
blog.naturalhealthyconcepts.com/2013/07/31/too-much-or-too-little-finding-a-healthy-stomach-acid-balance/And I agree about
the food sensitivities - I'm allergic to soy and MSG, which are hidden in many foods. Once I found this out, my intestines have been much happier now that I avoid them!
And don't be sorry for adding more questions! You may have just asked what others were wondering but didn't post them for some reason!
