Anyone with lyme get a colonoscopy before?

I have had 3 colonoscopies and 1 endoscopy all before the age of 37. I have had a lot of GI issues for the past several years, before I got diagnosed with Lyme.

My first colonoscopy the doctor removed a polyp. The other two colonoscopies the doctor found nothing wrong.

My endoscopy (EGD), showed a little irritation from acid reflux. My throat was a little sore after because the doctor took a couple of biopsies.

Please let your doctor know that you have mycoplasma pneumonia (walking pneumonia). From my understanding of this is that a lot of people are a systematic and don't even know they have it. This can be a contagious respiratory infection. You could pose a risk of infecting other patients (in the waiting room) or the clinical staff.

If the doctor says it is okay to still have procedures done, make sure to also tell your anesthesiologist about your pneumonia. So that they will know What medication will be better for you.

Please do have the colonoscopy and endoscopy done as soon as possible. Since you do have blood in your stool, you will want to rule out any other health problems.

With all 3 of my colonoscopies, I felt no pain and didn't remember anything while being scoped. The worst part of the whole thing is the preparations to clean your self out before the procedure. Drinking that nasty prep "cocktail " and running to the toilet hoping that your anal sphincter can hold everything until you get your pants down!

This is where my symptoms all started....my gut.

Tell them ALL of your issues you are dealing with,you do not want to pick up another infection.

My Mycoplasma and Candida was showing up after my dual (endo,colonoscopy)?

Then Lyme.

If they know your situation,they wil triple scrub everything.....thats good!

I got 3 endoscopies and 2 colonoscopies. They were not fun, especially if you have the heart affected, the endoscopy can be quite dangerous. Best is to have these tests sedated.


On the second one i specifically asked for them to do a PCR on the probes for Bartonella and Borrelia (i already had positive WB and Bart Quintana IgG) and of course they were not able to do any of them because "they don't test for these microbes".

The endoscopies were during a time when my bartonella was severely affecting my duodenum and i had pains and gastritis. Bartonella is a cause of "H-Pylori negative gastritis", see this presentation at the pinned time

Hopefully through your diagnostic stool test you will get more answers for your GI issues.

I have had GI issues for years, and never had a doctor suggest a stool test.

Sounds interesting about the virtual colonoscopy. I was always interested in doing the capsule endoscopy. This is when you swallow a "pill" with a tiny camera that takes pictures.

Hi Little Bear, thanks. The stool test was in part for parasites and to test other stuff- it was diagnostechs, I don't think it covers the type of stuff found with traditional tests like endoscopy and colonoscopy though so I am still going to a gastro doctor to rule stuff out.

I did 2 colon/endo with co'infections. My gastro said I had no parasites. MMMM. Incorrect. I took a bunch of parasite killing methods and had a parasites come out in colon hydrotherapy. They were so big that I even gave them names.
