Bad night with them chest pains

Been on Cipro/Rifampin for 2 weeks and had the worst chest pains overnight couldn't sleep it is particularly bad lying down. I've had constant chest pain for the past 2 days which culminated in severity (so far) with last night. Because its the chest you always are concerned with the heart so I have to get to a cardiologist soon to make sure everything is ok. I did get an EKG about 2 weeks ago and everything looked ok.

Could Cipro/Rifampin cause chest pains as a side effect? I'm pretty sure its the bugs but wondering if anyone knows.

Is herxing almost 2 weeks after a medication starts possible? Mostly I read people herx very close to when they start a new regimen.

Aside from detoxing anything else one can do to help with this? thanks.

Feels like tightness right in the middle of the chest worse lying down. I've had this for a few months but this was the worst. After I posted this thread started getting tingling in my right arm so since that's classic heart attack symptoms I went to the ER. Everything checked out meaning its either Cipro or the bugs most likely the bugs. At least I know my heart is ok.

By the way rifampin is a nasty toxic drug as well they stopped using it for TB and then reintroduced it because they basically had to.

I called my LLMD and I'm sure he's either going to back down my rifampin and/or switch me off Cipro.

Yes, I would be careful with the Cipro....

From what I've read, Rifampin messes with your liver...but doing monthly tests will keep that in check.

But, I don't like what I see with the Cipro...and the black box warning.

The two of them together...might be too much...(Sorry, I've said this before)
