Guo Teng (uncaria rhynchophylla)

Sandra29 I am taking the tincture and I just started out low and slow.

In his new book Buhner recommends it for neuroborreliosis (page 215) along with the core protocol. Tincture: his book says 1/2 - 1 tsp , 3-6x daily, depending on severity of brain infection.

Ah ha. Found it. Page 354 - for both species of cat's claw Powder: 1 teaspoon 3-6x daily in juice or water.
Start slow and work up.

I am starting out on this too, in powdered form from 1st chinese herbs too :)

I am starting on 1/4 of a teaspoon, 3 times a day. Now I know that I had to work up the other buhner herbs really slowly, (I made the mistake of starting too high and increasing too fast when I first began them...till I read the wiser words of folks on this forum and it all went a lot smoother second go around, lol!!) so I am intending to stay on that dose for a while.

Increasing your dose will also depend on the 'timing' of your herx, if you experience one that is. I know if I am going to herx it is usually 2 to three days in, but for others it is much quicker or much slower, so bear that in mind. Don't push forward until you are certain that you are OK.

You've been given great information already.

And, yes, Gou Teng has antibiotic properties - not against Borrelia but other organisms. Truly, anything that is anti anything or that supports the immune system has the potential for a herx.

Kudzu proved to be a wonderful herb for me - it cleared my brain fog within a month of starting it.

Low and slow is the best way to go.

That's what I started every herb with ;)

Some, I was able to increase to full dose rather quickly (supportive herbs).

Others took longer....as in 4 months to get up to 8 drops each of all the Babesia and Bartonella herbs. Amazingly so, I was able to get up to the full 1/4 - 1/2 tsp doses of each within the next two weeks once I got over that 8-drop hump. Go figure.
