Looking for LLMD or Lyme friendly doc in TN.

Hello everyone. I am new to this website, but not new to Lyme disease. I was bitten in summer of 2005, incorrectly diagnosed as having a brown recluse spider bite. A western blot test done in late 2009 or early 2010, it was done by a regular lab…Read by a machine…So my results was a negative. By the end of 2012 I was very very sick, in the bed, with horrible brain fog, and all over aches and burning. I was able to get in with Dr. C in MO. He drew a Western blot and sent to IgenX in California, where a human reads the results. I was positive on five bands. I have been very happy with Dr. C, I am just running into problems with finding a local Doctor who will work with Dr. C to dose me with the IV anabiotic's… any words of wisdom? I live in Tennessee but I am willing to travel wherever I need to in order to get better…

So are you looking for just a "Lyme friendly" doc in your area or a LLMD that will help you more?

As for getting the IV meds, will your insurance cover a home health nurse to come to your house? They might be able to provide you with the meds with a script from Dr. C. Or you could check with your local hospital to see if they would help out.

​ You will want to find an ILADS trained doctor, not one that has self proclaimed themselves as a LLMD or an ID Doc (Infectious Disease Doctor), as ID docs believe Lyme is hard to catch and easy to treat, and don't believe in the reality of chronic Lyme.
