Dr. Ken Holtorf is quite respected in the thyroid world. And, I've recently discovered that he seems to be treating Lyme patients.
In what might be older Lyme information from his site, I was interested to read comment #9 in regards to the Western Blot:
www.hormoneandlongevitycenter.com/lymedisease/#3"9. Response to the 31 KD proteins is not usually seen for a year after initial infection"
Has anyone heard of this?
I'm very curious since I tested IgM positive and IgG IND for band 31 via IGeneX testing 8 wks. after the nymph deer tick bite.
I did have a larger tick attach 4 months prior - my first ever. I circled the site of the attachment to watch for any reaction and there was none. No symptoms developed.
It wasn't until after I found the embedded nymph tick that I knew to ask for abx and that's when I developed symptoms.
I'm wondering if I (and my LLMD) missed something....
