New tick bite during treatment

Praying this tick is not infected. I found it this morning...I definitely
Was fed on during the night, I am not sure when it attached. I was outside yesterday, but never sat on the ground and I was no where near any trees or bushes.

I do not have pets.

I live in the state Lyme was discovered, and tick checks (and fears) have always been a part of life.

Anyone else ever bit during treatment? Scared this could be the straw that breaks the camels break.

Summer, don't panic. Increased stress will only make your immune system weaker. First things first...since you are already in treatment, you are taking antimicrobial, antibacterial agents like antibiotics or herbs I'm assuming.

For an acute infection, what you could take is high doses of Astragulus. I'm going to let the others chime in but this is typically what we take when you have an acute infection as it's a great immune booster. It's not indicated for a chronic infection but for acute.

Can anyone chime in on taking Astragulus for this?

Are you currently treating lyme? If so, I would think the treatment would take care of a new infection.

Thank you! I have Buhners book and I'll see what's suggested for new bites.

I am close to a year post bite, and I've been on biaxin and doxy 4.5 months. Actually, I'm only on doxy now-I stopped biaxin 5 weeks ago.

My dr is switching me to cephalexin, I pick up the script tomorrow. She has recommended adding in TAO Cats Claw and Japenese
Knotwood.

I just got my new labs, and I really don't understand them, but my dr says my numbers aren't going down. My symptoms persist.

So...if more co-infections are added from this new bite...I feel bleak.

Well Summer, you have to remember that antibiotics are 1) not for everyone and only treat certain forms of Bb and co-infections, but does not necessarily take care of all the infections, in fact there are theories that abx drive the bugs deeper into the body and create larger biofilms. Have you been tested for parasites, treated for candida and gut issues, methylation sisues, are you detoxing enough, treating mold if you have mold exposure is a big one, treating biofilms and hormonal/mitochondrial imbalances are all part of the puzzle when it comes to getting us well.

How awful! I'm so sorry...my worst nightmare. I don't know if I'll ever be able to enjoy the outdoors like I used to.

I believe I've read that Astragulus is best avoided if one has chronic Lyme...yes:

It it also happened to me and I completely freaked out. I couldn't figure out where I'd gotten it either. I was on abx at the time so my doctor wasn't worried but I still panicked. Try not to if you can and I'm sorry you're dealing with it. Hang in there.

I am another one that had ticks (yes, that's multiple eyes) attach while I was in treatment for Lyme and Bart. I was still only in treatment 12 months for a 40 year old infection. Your treatment should cover you.

Do be sure to tell your LLMD though. Did you keep the tick? If so, you can have it tested for free to see what infections it was carrying.
