I have really weird stomach issues especially now. My stomach constantly hurts, when I eat or when I dont, I get this weird white patch on my tongue which I believe is due to silent acid reflux?
I finally got a primary doctor who did a butt load of blood work. My cbc is normal, I don't have thyroid or autoimmune issues. I tested negative for hiv. Only thing she found was a vitamin d deficiency. I asked her to see if I still had lyme...she said there were antibodies in my blood but no new infection.
So I guess what I'm trying to get at is, do you guys think I wasn't treated long enough? Should I consider that lyme could be the cause of all this all along?
Or should I start thinking it's something else?
The white patch on your tongue is Candida. You have a yeast overgrowth. You need treatment for that.
Vitamin d deficiency is common for people with lyme disease.
Looking at antibodies in your blood can't tell if you have an active infection or not. It can only tell that you've been exposed...we need to look at symptoms to tell if it's active or not. If you have symptoms, you need treatment. It sounds like your blood work showed IgG antibodies - which uneducated Dr.'s often say is an old or prior infection...when in actuality it means an older or later stage infection - but can still be an 'active' infection.
No, you were not treated long enough - when you present with a bulls eye rash - the minimum treatment according to the ILADS Lyme Disease Treatment guidelines is 6 weeks.
YES, you definitely should consider lyme as the cause. I urge you to find a LLMD (Lyme Literate Dr.) and schedule an appointment - for treatment.
