Yeah - only a matter of time before it reached Canada. Because of the panic, research will be automatically funded, leaving even fewer resources and less attention paid to lyme & co. It's infuriating. Reminds me - interested to see how Tuttle's petition is coming along...

I am not so worried about sexually transmitted Zika. But highly scared of the virus coming to my state via a mosquito. I live in an area of about 500 people and I have a neighbor (over the hill a ways) that has West Nile and I know 2 people here with lyme.

Only a matter of time that Zika travels here.

I just don't understand the lack of research done on Lyme disease...are the country's blood banks contaminated...do they care?

Nobody gives a ***** about Lyme in Canada. That's what's so sad about it. It amazes me how much action is being taken for zika. Awareness, constant media attention, research, swift action by the medical community. And yet here we are constantly fighting for people to take us seriously. Doing our own research and spending out of pocket for treatments, trying this and that and hoping something will work. It's pathetic.

And yet if we need a blood transfusion, we don't know if it's been infected with Lyme and co. Argh.

Ok rant over lol.

Most likely - that's why some blood donations have become restricted since "they" realized Babesia is in the blood supply and there aren't accurate tests for it.

You have to know Lyme is in the blood supply based upon the huge number of undiagnosed people.

Do they care? Sure they do - Big Pharma makes a LOT of money with the meds they sell to sick people.

The presidential election proceedings going on right now are quite the reminder of the collusion and special interests that pervade our government - it's revolting and we the people suffer because of it.
