Pretty much a post for moral support

Hello Lyme forum,

They say never take a journey through your mind alone, So I'm posting here to get peoples insight, personal experiences, and simply, moral support.

As usual I'm trying to be objective about any new weird things happening to my body to not freak out (but so much). I try to be objective and think, "okay what do I know is going on".

to recap:

1. I most likely have lyme since my plethora of symptoms I experienced over the past 5 months match (clinically diagnosed).
2. I know for sure I have a mycoplasma infection which is a very common co-infection of lyme (medically diagnosed).
3. and I have a fungus/parasite issue because I have the itchy crawly, bitey sensations, scalp sensation, the black specks out of my hand ("morgellons" fungus/parasite). itchiness under armpits, back of neck, behind ears, basically the warm moist areas with skin folds. I experienced that white stuff that comes out of the skin around the mouth on the outside (candida thrush). That was weird, I went to the bathroom and looked in the mirror and it was like a white mustache (funny but not funny).

Also, through this entire ordeal I've formed many food allergies.

A week or so ago I made a homemade tomato sauce (trying out tomatoes in hopes I can tolerate it) upon eating it I got itchy all over, rash behind neck, itchiness under armpits, crawling sensation increased.

BUT I also got a rash on my groin that freaked me out. And also the skin in and on my "male region" gets irritated a little easier then maybe it should (but at the same time, much more sensitive skin anywhere has definitely been a symptom since getting lyme).

Everything else didn't freak me out because I'm use to it but when stuff starts happening down there, the level of concern increases. It shouldn't have freaked me out since that is a classic "warm and damp" place on the body but of course it still did.

Any one else that knew all the things I've been going through (lyme, myco, candida/fungus/parasites) would say it's all related but when it's happening to you it's hard to think objectively.

So needless to say I took a full panel STD test just to be safe and provide piece of mind. I will know the full results Monday.

In the meantime I'm just reaching out for moral support as I wait to know. And maybe get people's similar experiences to not feel so alone. It's been a rough 5 months with lyme and co.

You need to keep those warm and damp places as dry as possible. Gold Bond powder works great. But do not breath in the powder, please.

You really need to treat the candida. First is to stop feeding it so it will grow no longer. It lives on sugar. And this stinks because sugar is in so many things, even ketchup! It will be a test in inventiveness to create meals and snacks without sugar. Lettuce wraps were my favorite. I also used corn tortillas and made warm sandwiches. There are many sugar free or candida diet recipes on the web.

And, you may need a prescription.

None of what I said should be taken before the advice of a doctor. You really need to see a doc. And I would think that he/she would address the candida/fungus/parasite problem right away.

All is stuff that can be fixed. Hang in there and try and be patient (that's the hard part).

As for the pending test results. You will deal with those results when they come. Do not borrow trouble by worrying about that now. Remember lyme loves stress, so don't feed the lyme.

It sounds as if you are in the flow of sorting it out - beautifully - which, I know is not an easy path. I think the "most likely have lyme" mentality is a really great one to have. "most likely" is enough to take right action to restore balance in your body. Your thought to do a full panel STD to rule that out is wise. It seems as if this process is much about that. As you move forwards with treating the many things, as stuff comes up, and it may fit diagnostically in a particular box, test it out - better safe than sorry is the old phrase.

I have been on the anti-candida diet for about a month now and sugar free. Taking a very high quality probiotic. And my LLMD gave me anti-fungals (both rx and natural).

My non-LLMD that checked out my personal region gave me an rx for anti-fungal cream.

If it is "only" a candida/fungal issue then I'm "okay" with that. But as much as I may unnecessarily stressing myself out in the std dept. I just need that to be 100% put away in my mind to move forward with dealing with lyme and candida.

I agree with what's been said already and, yes, some of the advice is easier to give than follow.

Worrying really is time wasted...yet there are so many things we can worry about.

However, if you continue to come back to your diligence in your approach and the logical way you've approached these infections, you will get past this no matter what the tests show.

I send positive thoughts your way.

I do try to stay logical. I mean I know for sure I have candida with all the digestive issues and it has become systemic. I have black specks and tiny hair fibers that come out of my skin (mainly my hands) so there's no confusion there, there's pretty much only one thing that does that and that is morgellons fungus (which many believe is a combo of lyme and candida albicans).

But when you are alone and have no one to talk to, your mind goes in many different bad and dark directions and you think the worst! And once you start doing that the lyme makes it worse and you feel an anxiety attack coming on.

So I come on this board and it makes me feel so much better to talk to others going through very similar things.

decarte3 I did the same thing. Rather than blubber and cry to family I came here and let myself go. What a comfort it is still to come here and say what is on my heart.

You do the same any time. It is so much more healthy. I could not have ever made it without this place! And I continue to need this place.

I'm learning to do that as well. It takes a toll on family members. They can only sympathize but they can't understand or share insight. They are supportive but I can't and wont keep dumping the problems of lyme on them, I'm sure it hurts them more emotionally then even myself.

I've actually gotten really use to it. A muscle twitch, a crawly sensation, a muscle pain, dizziness, floaters in vision, weird light sensitivity, loss of vision focus as if I'm zoning out in a daze and i have to snap back to reality, tingles, stretch marks that come out of no where, bruises, blood specks under skin, rashes (when it's not in the groin region lol), etc.

I just go about my day now. I think that is a very important hurdle to get over and that is "accepting it" (like truly accepting it) and move forward with healing.

Oh my gosh, I could not have said it better -- accepting it.

I would jump from a twitch and hubby would look at me and I just said, "symptom." It was a constant expression I used. It was my way of saying, this is normal for lyme and for him not to be concerned.

lol, yes. My entire leg would twitch and I'll just say to myself, "whoa that was a big one". Or a real sharpe bite feeling on my toe or leg or torso and it's like "oh, that one got me good" and keep watching tv lol.

I mean you have to do that, what else are you going to do.

So I got my results. They were supposed to email me the result but didn't I had to login their site. Which kind of made me angry because the results were actually ready FRIDAY NIGHT! Even before I made this post. Something just told me to login and check today.

Anywho all results including but not limited too, HIV, gential herpes (where HSV-2 prefers), gono, clap, syphillis (we lymies have enough spirochetes in our bodies as is right lol), etc are negative.

However HSV-1 (cold sores) was positive but I knew that already from having "mono" when I was 19 and my one and only cold sore at like 25 years old. 75%+ of people have HSV-1 including children.

Anywho, so that's the GOOD NEWS!!

The groin rash is common with yeast/fungal issue so it all makes sense since that is what I'm going through right now. Also it didn't follow the lifecycle of a herpes blister (they weren't even blisters to begin with). All things my common sense should have put me at ease with but I had to make sure (particluarly HSV-2) wasn't in my system.

I can now go back to treating lyme and become a monk in the sex dept until I'm married. That scare was too much!

dacarte3 acceptance of what you have and are going through is a huge leap forward in mentally girding yourself for the many battles you will face now and in the future. we all have our own stories. i was treating for a year and wasn't making any progress then decided to switch it up and go after bartonella and things got far worse than i could ever imagine.

i mean what the heck you're supposed to get better over time right? these infections are not well understood still. they can hide and come out with a vengeance months or years later and no one really understands entirely why.

important to keep a daily journal of what you're going through even down to when you have attacks. every little piece of information helps with the overall understanding to help in treatment. things do get better but most of us need to know improvement sometimes is measured in tiny doses and over many months.
