Pulsing Rifampin?

I have read many posts suggesting not to pulse rifampin for Bartonella due to some speculation about resistance. Many of these posts are from some time ago. I'm wondering if anyone has pulsed Rifampin (ie. M, W, F, 600mg 1x/day) and their experience with this? Any success?

i've been on rifampin daily since mid-jan. i thought i read that because bartonella reproduces so rapidly if you pulse you can quickly lose your progress. not sure how true this is as some LLMD's like girlie mentioned do indeed pulse it. rifampin has a short half life 3-4 hours so in 24 hours it would be completely out of your system.

i would like to know more about this since rifampin has worked well for my head issues and i would like to stay on it for some time but not comfortable staying on it daily. i may also be having some adverse reaction to it my heart palpitations/chest issues have been super bad since i started using rifampin along with cipro then biaxin now doxy. it's possible the rifampin amount/frequency is complicating the symptoms and they aren't just bugs acting up.

I have never been so sick in my life since starting meds. Over the last week all symptoms have gotten worse and also have been severely fatigued along with heart palpitations. My blood pressure and pulse are going through the roof. Please tell me this is normal

Symptoms increasing - typical of a herx.

Are you doing enough to detox? You've got to get those toxins flushed out.

So my friend who sees thee doctor h daid he pulsed rifampin and her other doc said not to let up and do it daily...so sorry to bring this up again ..it just my poor lil liver is doing so much ..i think i could pulse but if that makes bart resistant then mahbe i should push ...

is it ok to pulse riffy or not?
i am pairing with zith and venom and roceph some times, mostly zith

Im pretty sure blue you can i believe Dr. J in D.C. pulses all abx including rifampin. Im pretty sure though that means you will have your cysts popping open though so watch that herx.

Dr J has been using pulsing protocols for 5 years or more.

If he didnt see good results he wouldnt do it

i'm probably going to try pulsing rifabutin/minocycline combo as i want to add bactrim back in to really put on the full court press. now whether i do abx 7 days a week or take time off on occasion is up for discussion with my LLMD but i really like the approach of throwing as many different killing mechanisms as your body can tolerate at the bugs to beat them down. of course never forget to support your body as the immune system ultimately has to take over the job to some degree.
