You may know that I got Buhner's full Lyme, Babesia and Bartonella protocols going in low doses before increasing.
I was herxing so much with a variety of changing symptoms that I was only up to 8 drops each of the Babs/Bart antimicrobials after 4 months. (I was able to fully titrate the Lyme protocol within that timeframe - I speculate its ease was due to me taking 6 months of abx for Lyme and being on full Cowden for almost 6 months after that).
If you think about it, you did with abx what I was doing with a larger number of herbs. (Due to the synergy of herbs, changing the dose of a single herb can cause a change in a person's response).
I'd have to check my journal for specifics but there were definitely symptoms that came and went (stuff like air hunger, chest pressure, head pressure, etc.)...some that hang around (PNS stuff)....and some that might stop by for a very quick visit (like a sharp pain in a toe).
I'm fortunate that my symptoms have always been mild but I still experienced a total of 40 different ones since I've been treating.
I theorize that the symptoms hanging around (PNS stuff) will be the last to leave because they represent a milder version of the symptoms I first had after the bite.
Since the body recognizes the area of the most pain, I'm thinking my PNS was the most damaged of all by the tick bite....along with the cranial nerve associated with Bells Palsy (I had a super mild case and deal mostly with facial numbness...it used to be mild weakness along with the numbness)
I also theorize that the stuff that came and went represent healed areas of my body. And, my final theory is that the stuff like the occasional sharp pain in a toe is an area of infection that still needs a little more attention.
These theories are based upon my understanding of the disease process for each of the infections I think I have. No idea if this is what is truly happening in my body but, I'm going with it ;)
And it took a long while but, detoxing really helps....I'm no longer herxing (yay ;) and have been able to reduce the number of things I do for detox (I "only" do 20 things per day that take no more than 10 minutes in total excluding exercise).
My body is now telling me when it's time to take my next dose of herbs. My symptoms continue to s-l-o-w-l-y improve (and I am not kidding when I say slowly). Stress can exacerbate my symptoms and I'm dealing with inescapable stress right now. Even though I've had some stalls, I'm still in a better place than any time since the tick bite.
I'm confident I will heal because I told the bacteria we need to learn to peacefully coexist lol
Please forgive this "all about me" post. I share parts of my story in the event it might help others. I know that's how I figured things out for myself. My LLMD got me to 90%....I've had to take charge of the rest.
