Detoxing with foot soaks.

Getting ready to use The Epson salts I just bought for foot soaks to see what proportions and noted 2 things. One, thankfully my bf has a new bottle of Hydrogen peroxide I can use. Two, would the Epson salts have worked to detox without the peroxide?

Also, and most importantly, why does it say users may feel worse for the first week? I thought the purpose of detoxing was to help diminish herxes.

What's going on that the foot soaks would make you feel worse? THank you. :)

Hi! I used epsom salts without peroxide until a few months ago only because I didn't know to use it. Epsom baths are my favorite detox tool. Especially since I realized that I could bring my laptop in to the bathroom and watch movies or listen to music, etc.

As far as feeling worse, I'm not sure why that is and it's only happened to me once or twice. Usually I feel a lot better or at least more relaxed.

Costco has excellent prices on epsom salts and peroxide, btw.

Thank you Tillybear! I feel a little better about it since reading your post. My herxes this past week have been awful and it was freaking me out that I might do something to make them worse.

I don't have a Cosco anywhere in this part of the State of Missouri, but Walmart has that qt. size box for a couple bucks. Which I wish I'd known before I bought a bag of it at the grocery store for over $4. Oh well, that's cheap enough for a one time mistake, lol.

I've got a ginger knob in the refrigerator I'm thinking of slicing a piece into it, just for the heck of it. Between it and the peroxide, it might feel like soaking in ginger ale!

I use the epsom salts every time...and only now and then use the hydrogen peroxide.

The reason you could feel worse at first is because if you end up mobilizing so many toxins, your system may not be able to keep up with getting rid of them...the 'highway' may be clogged up...it could take awhile to catch up if you've got a heavy bacterial die-off.

So, start off with soaking only for 5 minutes.....and if things are good...you can increase after a few times to 10 minutes...etc.

Thanks for this post. I'm starting my foot soaks today and was wondering about the peroxide as I wasn't planning to use it. I only use Epsom for my baths (tho I don't do them too frequently). How often do you guys do the foot baths?

Also be careful about making the water too hot. If it's too hot then you can cause bug die off and induce a herx. I've done that a few times and it's not fun. Also too much epsom salt can also make you feel groggy and tired, at least it did for me so it'll take some experimentation to figure out what works for you.
