While I do thank you for posting this, the information presented is not correct.
-while I'd LOVE to be able to say that those with chronic Lyme will test positive (on slide #3) on the bands stated (31,34, & 83 - 93) this is often NOT the case due to the ability of the bacteria to inhibit the immune function, making testing on almost any of the bands very difficult. I had chronic Lyme and should have tested positive on those bands, yet without treatment, I only tested positive for band 41.
- on slide #5, it states that the testing is very sensitive and specific, which is NOT true.
- slide #6 has been disproven as well - the only strains that come back positive on a regular basis are burgdorferi and mayonii.
I didn't bother to go any further.
But again, thank you for posting this, as it will help others to understand.
I don't see anywhere on Slide 3 where it says everyone with chronic Lyme will test positive. I think it's saying if you have those bands positive, you have Bb markers since they are specific.
