HELP PLEASE!! -sorting Igx Test to choose??

Can someone please help me sort thru the Igx of which tests to order for someone? It is all confusing! I can't figure out between the Basic, Initial or Complete Lyme Panel?

And why doesn't Igenex put pricing next to each of these?

And then I think the co-infections & babesia should also have bloodwork check so the Igx site is also very confusing on this one, too (??). I'm leaning towards the "New Complete co-inf panel" which includes the co & babesia, but again, on the site, there are other very similar choices.

Without completely breaking the bank we'd like to do Igenex for Western Blot/co-inf/bart & then a separate geisma stain for FryLabs proto.

Any guidance with ordering the most basic without breaking the bank (yet covering the bases)??? Heeelllp! Below, are the categories listed on the Igenex site:

I personally would only buy the western blot IGG & IGM. They are listed separate and it's around $210.

As far as coinfection testing, I have read that Galaxy is the best for Bartonella. For Babesia, I am not sure. Fry is probably better with coinfections than IGeneX, but again, that's just my opinion.

k07-Thanks--that does help! I had forgotten about Galaxy & yet this person I'm helping is overwhelmed (which I understand!). I do believe in Frylabs so perhaps that should be for the proto & co-inf. So appreciate your weighing in!

It partly depends on if they are trying to get a positive for insurance purposes, if so, spare no expense and get the Complete Lyme panel.

Remember co-infection testing, even through Igenex is not good at all, but if it's again for insurance purposes, find out if the doc will just treat for the infections rather than trying to get a positive. Lyme lowers the immune function, and it only takes a small amount of bacteria to cause great illness.

For Lyme, I agree - just get the IgM and IgG for $210 - I think they're 188 and 189 - listed separately.

Lyme WB IgM and IgG - is the 188 and 189 Igenex tests.

On the form it is down in the Single Test Section and on the left side.

Ok, now I see it--thanks all! And yes, Trav, you are right re the co-inf--why spend that extra testing $ when it will be needed for a good doc & treatment.

The person I'm trying to help is hit hard, now on abx due possible "strep," so we have to wait out until after the abx to not skew the results. I will post later when we get some results. Geezch--so much to navigate thru & I thought I had a decent handle on it all!

Ok, one more perhaps dumb question. I don't see on the site for a test kit.

If one is going to an outside bloodlab to have blood drawn with the appropriate paperwork signed off by doc, do they need to order an Igenex kit to bring? Why am I so confused with this? (Did mine yrs ago!).

What do you mean you have to wait to not skew results?

Some people have luck with more accurate test results by "provoking" a better immune response - abx is one way to do this so if anything, you might actually be improving results after a course of abx.

Well, if this person is on abx (now a week on amox & this past week has had really bad night sweats--perhaps a herx), won't the abx skew the blood testing?

I'm not sure how abx would skew a lyme test.

If anything, abx can help kick a languishing immune system into gear--not always but it can help. I know some LLMDs test only after a few wks of abx so that the patient has a better chance of producing enough antibodies for the tests to detect. Mine provoked with olive leaf extract, which worked well (ELISA negative before provoking, IGeneX WB was CDC positive after provoking).
