Hey everyone,

Was just diagnosed with lichen planus.... Derm said it is an autoimmune disease..... Anyone else dealing with this?

There have been some studies done that indicate the possibility of a connection to Lyme.

You could do a search on the site here and see if there have been any other threads started on it. Perhaps someone who also deals with it will come along and be able to help you out.

Have you tried going to a biological dds and cleaning up metals and infection. Must use a biological dds

First time I've heard of this so I did a search and found this question to Buhner about it which implies that the poster also had Lyme:

Also, there do seem to be a few other posts where people with Lyme experience this.

What are your symptoms from this? Sorry you're dealing with this.

First ....... Thanks for the replies

I just had the Igenex test done a few weeks ago so waiting for that. Funny you asked that question magoo because my LLMD ordered a 24 hour urine to check for heavy metals but she ordered a lot of other tests but I feel I have to check with my insurance first before I have them done because the cost is quite large and I don't want to be held responsibleb.... According to Lab Corp. My symptoms started a few months ago and are mainly on scalp and toenails..... Extremely itchy scalp and a few sores and my toenails are brittle,cracking and yellow. My derm did 2 biopsies and the had them rechecked by a diff lab. She said she feels it is an autoimmune disease not every doc agrees but I agree with her since a lot of lupus and MS patients have this. She wants me to start with a topical steroid since this can cause permanant hair loss.... Yuck! I feel like crap I don't really want to start looking like crap too!😫

Ha - I was going to post that there aren't many posts on here about this, but I had found something on Buhner's site - Mister Mike already posted it!!

I would encourage you to do all you can to make sure you don't have Lyme or other infections though, as steroid use will prevent you from healing.
