If you can find rice from northern California (we use Lundberg), it will have lower amounts of arsenic. Arsenic was used as a pesticide for the cotton boll weevil in the southern states and large amounts of it remain in the soil now used to grow rice.
Arsenic is preferentially taken up by rice and it is mostly stored in the bran/husk. White basmati from northern California has the lowest level of contamination.
So you need to know the source of your rice (that means rice noodles, etc. can be problematic), cook it in a large amount of water and drain it like you would pasta. Rinse it off after you drain it and that should remove a significant portion of the metals.
