Adding some powerful anti-fungals

For those dealing with potential fungal issues I added a few powerful things to my regimen wanted to share.

Alchornea: Buhner raves about this stuff and rightfully so. It's an anti-bacterial/fungal/microbial/viral/protozoan/malarial/oxidant/inflammatory

Olive Leaf Extract: Another powerful one it does everything Alchornea does with the addition of being an immune booster also.

NutraMedix Cumanda: Known for its anti-microbial properties to attack Lyme it's also a powerful anti-fungal


I started all 3 of these at the same time and I got a big herx for about 8 hours! Not sure what I was killing but I was stirring something up!

Dude...

You herxed because you just took, like, 3 antibiotics! added in a little antiviral, anti fungal, anti protozoan, antimalarial...

I would ease into it a little bit...

BTW - not sure if you're read the yeast/fungal info in the "New to Lyme?" thread but there is a lot of info there.

You may already know this but existing yeast/fungal imbalances are very tough to eliminate with natural antifungals. You might have success but just letting you know. For naturals, you should take only two at a time and rotate them out every couple of weeks... yeast/fungus have a habit of becoming resistant more easily to yeast/fungus.

oh my!! my Dr recommended only to do one candida herb at a time. if you are treating lyme that is different, but candida is sneaky and you can develop resistance rather quickly. So she told me to take one herb for three weeks, then switch off to a different one for three weeks, and so on.

thanks everyone i tend to go crazy when i go after something and its bitten me in the bum more than a few times. thanks for the tip on rotating them out i know at least with olive leaf extract you're supposed to take breaks.

pirouette i did read your fungal post when it first came out great information very helpful thanks a bunch!

yes i'm on planequil 2x/day, biaxin 1x/day and bactrim 2x/day. basically i'm throwing the kitchen sink at it ;)

blueberry - I treated candida at the same time as lyme, its ok to take antibiotics and antifungals together, as long as it is not in the erythromycin class

Hi Chapelle thank you for your answer.
I take Minocycline and Clindamycin. My Dr. told me maybe he will put me on Azithromycine soon (instead of Clindamycin).

I am not sure if I understood you well. Do you mean any herb that fights Candida (e.g. olive leaf extract, pau d'artco, etc) cannot be taken or just pharmaceuticals like Nystatin?

Also, would it be ok to take antifungal and abx during the same period - but wait 2 hours?

Outside of Chapelle's answer for the contraindication of abx and antifungals...

The sequence is important since the abx kill bacteria on contact. and yeast/fungus grows very quickly. So I like taking my anti fungal right after or within hours after my abx. But I don't think it matters if you take it along with each other or wait a few hours, but I think it's best to take the antimicrobial FIRST.
