just so you understand my thoughts - you can read a ton on the internet now, and get very very confused about any topic, if you think about it!!

When I went to pharmacy school, Rifampin was never classified as an "antibiotic"

so that is why I don't view it that way - no confusion intended, it is merely just a minor classification issue.

At the end of the day, do we really need to worry about this? Nah - it's the drug interactions and the side e.ffects of rifampin that matter way more than whether or not it is classified as an antibiotic or antimicrobial.

and if it makes you all feel better, I am willing to submit to the fact that it is classified as an antibiotic, just to put this discussion to rest!!!
