Lions Mane as powder, how much?

So I can buy Lion's Mane in powder form and make my own capsules, but Buhner only talks about tinctures for this one throughout the whole book. Some of the tincs he says to use, in the back of the book he also gives you a powder/capsule equivalent, but I can't find one for Lion's Mane.

Anybody know how many mg's of powder form Lion's Mane to use in place of tinctures?

A better question, does anyone know how I can convert tincture measurements into powder form myself, or is there someone I can ask or email?

On page 221 of his new Lyme book, Buhner recommends 3-8 grams daily of Lion's Mane powder (or 1 tsp tincture 3-4x per day)

I buy Myriad Mycology Lion's Mane powder from 1st Chinese Herbs and 1 tsp is 2000mg (2 grams) - I take that amount 3x per day.

There is no way to convert tincture measurements into powder form - the body metabolizes the forms differently. Buhner mentions both concepts in his books.

Just start low (maybe 1/4 tsp per day) and go slow (don't increase for a few days).

As Buhner states throughout his books: the herb/dosing recommendations are just that - recommendations.

We each need to find the dose that works best for us.

Sorry CD, I'm still reading, and i even wrote notes!!!, but i did not see the grams part on that page. So much to learn and put together, I wish my brain worked like it used to :(

What/where are you getting for andrographis powder/capsules?

I was so overwhelmed/brainfogged when I read Buhner's first book that I opted out of trying his protocols because I couldn't figure anything out.

His newer books are even harder to plod through even without those issues.

I listed the page number about Lion's Mane only for those who might want to check ;)

Just keep posting questions so we can help lessen the steep learning curve we all face. If I can help prevent someone from experiencing the number of 20/20 hindsight moments I've had, I consider my time on here worthwhile ;)

I edited that WAYYYYY after I started it. Where are you getting your andrographis powder? Is the Nuherb brand on the 1st Chinese website okay? By the description about the tests it goes through it sounds okay?

Oh, and I was going to buy size 0 pills to put the powder in. Because the density affects the actual mass/weight of what is in the pill I was going to do the following: Weigh an empty pill, fill the pills, weigh a full pill to get the actual milligram that is in the pill.....is it actually that simple, or am I missing something?

Somewhere along the line, Buhner recommended Nature's Way andrographis and I buy mine on Amazon.

NuHerb is a very reputable brand as is Plum Flower.

Your method for capsule making sounds sensible. I've never made capsules and instead just take the powder mixed in water/juice.

You might want to start a separate thread with capsule-making questions ;)
