Igenex Results - Need help

I have been sick for six months. I have seen my primary care doctor, a rheumatologist, a urologist, a surgeon, and two infectious Disease doctors. Two tests through normal labs were negative. Western blot from the mayo clinic showed positive for only band 41.
I was able to get tested by Igenex and here are the results:

IgM

39: IND

 41: +

 83-93: IND

IgG

 39: IND

 41: ++

 58: ++

Every time I take antibiotics for something unrelated I feel so much better. Full body muscle and joint pain, headaches. I was also diagnosed with celiac disease in March (three months into being sick).

Please let me know what you think of these results. I do not have an LLMD

Welcome to our community, Jake!

You have IND on lyme specific bands - 39 and 83-93.
IND means it wasn't strong enough for a positive, but it showed 'something'.
Some of us call them 'weak positives'.


I would seek out a LLMD and schedule an appointment. You want someone who knows how to diagnose and treat lyme disease. Take your test results to your initial consult.

Hi Jake. Stopping by to welcome you to the community. Here a few more resources.

You can email the Tick-Borne Disease Alliance at medicalinfo@tbdalliance.org for LLMD referrals and you can go to tbdalliance.org to learn more about these infections.

You can go to The Lyme Disease Association and search for LLMD's 3 times in a month. You have to register first. Here is the link:

Thank you all for the welcome. Traveler, I did paste the results from an email I had sent to a friend of mine. I pasted because it was faster than typing the results again. Anyway - Thank you, it seems to me that if there are lyme specific bands showing up it is evidence, unless those specific bands cross-react with anything else.

From what I have been able to find online, band 39 does not cross react with anything else.

The ++ on IgG band 58 might be due to the very high (inactive) EBV antibodies that showed up on one of the many blood tests I had.

I have an appointment with an ID doctor this week. From what I've read, they are sometimes not a big help. I will most likely post again seeking a LLMD.

A belated welcome Jake!

Sorry for the reason you're here but glad you found us.

Noted LLMD Richard Horowitz has treated over 12,000 Lyme patients. He plays what he calls "Lyme Bingo".

Basically, he diagnoses Lyme based upon symptoms (as it should be) + any type of reaction on a Lyme-specific WB band.

He would diagnose you with Lyme based upon this.
