I am reading in Buhner's latest Healing Lyme book on page 395 where he says take Cryptolepis for babesia: 1 tsp-1 tbl 3X daily for five days and repeat in fourteen days. In his Babesia book it it says 1 tsp-1 tbl 3x daily for 5-30 days and repeat if necessary. I realize these are guidelines but I guess I am asking if this is something we aren't supposed to take long term. I am only up to 9 drops a day total and I've been doing this for a month. The herx causes much air hunger. Should we take breaks from this herb?

Loutucky, I read his statement about taking it for 30 days and was confused also. I did exactly that. I took it for 30 days and stopped and then relapsed.

What I did was take Cryptolepis for 30 days past the life of a red blood cell - so I took Crypto about 5 months. I had no problem.

My max dose was 1 dropper full, 3 times a day.

Just remember that your max dose may be lower or higher. I went up slow and did fine until I got to 1 dropper full and 1 drop. So I backed down to the one dropper and that was it.

Thank you PeteZa. That makes me feel a lot better and makes more sense. I just wish I could increase faster but I guess that will come.

Yeah I'm curious on this too. Buhners advise can be inconsistent at times. I'm trying to take an extended babs protocol with crypto, sida, and bidens/alchornea but not sure how long I should keep that up.

I take crypto drops. I'm up to 28 (10, 9, 9) drops a day. Not sure how much higher I'll be able to go. Hopefully I can get to 30, but I don't think I'll be able to go much higher. This has been a hard one to increase for me. I've been taking it since late May.

Krimpet, are you taking any other herbs with the Cryptolepis to fight babesia? I am planning on adding alchornea or artemisia but definitely not now.

When I asked about taking art as well....I was told that it wasn't necessary, though some people do both. I do have alchornea, but I haven't taken that in a couple of weeks. I'm actually now trying to find something additional as an antiviral for EBV. I also take houtt and silver. Houtt doesn't hit babs, tho.
