Alcohol dehydrates us, so please do be careful in a sauna!! You have the potential to dehydrate yourself even further.

"excessive" alcohol use (which for a Lyme patient may only be one or two beers) lowers immune function, and also turns to sugar - so if you have any issues with yeast or fungal issues, you have to consider that as well. Candida produces many of the same symptoms as Lyme does.

You just reminded me of something in my past - you may be on to something. I had candida a few years ago (due to too many abx. for surgery). Right before I knew I had it we had friends over for the weekend. I have never been good at tolerating alcohol (sugar). Anyway I wanted to join in the fun so I have several glasses of wine and very little sleep. Maverick, the next morning I my hands were shaking - tremoring and I thought I had to go to the hospital. I have maybe four glasses of wine over the course of an evening but that is a ton for me. Couldn't stand that day and was just miserable.

Anyway I would not go in the sauna and just rest.
