I have treated at length Lyme and Bart.

I have had some symptom resolution, but am not totally well yet.
I've been thinking that perhaps babesia is holding me back.

just a summary of pertinent information:

A year ago I requested to go on Minocycline as I had some 'head' issues and i wanted something for good CNS penetration.
After a month, I added Rifampin for Bart.

The mino did help my head issues...and then after about 4 months, I switched from mino to Biaxin. This was after seeing a presentation by Dr. M. (bart guru) - who uses Biaxin and Rif for bartonella.

That was in November last year.
I had two really good days - Dec. 25/26

Then, over the next few months, I tried a few things - including CBD oil but I didn't seem to be making progress.
May I started doing rounds of Artemisinin - thinking maybe Babs is the 'missing piece' to the puzzle. I also started a pulsed approach of my antibioitics- M/W/F two abx, Th/F a different one. Sat/Sun off. Two weeks of this, then one week off.

During this time...my 'shivers' and sweats started to get worse.
My first round of Artemisinin - I herxed in the middle of the night - woke up very emotional/crying with terrible shivering.

I have been shivering all summer...even during the hot spell we had. The shivers weren't this bad last summer.

Recently I started to get the 'head ' issues back. Pressure behind my eyes...plus something new - pain on my forehead - left side -eyebrow area. Don't know if that can be considered a headache or not...it's not a dull pain.

So, three weeks ago, I added Tinidazole back in - pulsing on Thursday/Friday.

One week ago, I switched the biaxin to minocycline.

Yesterday evening I had serious burning nerve pain - body wide. I always have nerve pain, but this was different - more intense.
Went to bed...woke up this morning and did not wake up with the typical shiver and sweating episode along anxiety.
I also dreamt last night.

So, was the severe burning nerve pain last night a herx from the minocycline?
And, is that why I felt better this morning...the mino is doing 'something'?

It makes me wonder if maybe my suspicion that I have Babesia is incorrect.

Is it perhaps "just" lyme - and I have a lot of CNS driven symptoms - which the mino is targeting.


I know...it's a messy one to sort out.

I stink at antibiotics, and you know that.

But, is something hitting the blood brain barrier or is something missing taking care of the blood brain barrier.

My head, neck, face and eyes sure loved Japanese Knotweed and when I added in the Red Root - boy that was the ticket. I think I needed the BBB hit, inflammation and there are lymph nodes in our heads.

Just a thought from the herb aisle.

Have you tried Red Root? It sure helped me.

My max on J/k and Red Root - I was doing 2 dropper fulls, 3 times a day.

And, one time I started getting a little headache and I upped the J/K by only 3 drops and the headache or pain went away.

More testing ?..do your own giemsa stain...i have that eye pain too...and shivers was cold all summer too..my kinesioloist said my thyroid med was only good if i was to take csa ...?.! Also have a weird swallow tuing in throat like georgia huner said its a biofilm with proro..this one lab id it as toxo but i think it ma6 be proto...have you tried iver or alinia ...the bee venom has helped eye pain.i have a weird cyst on left eye ..dr said it was normal..cmv loves eyes too..
Consider adding a few stings . Ir switching the game ..maybe buyba microscope ..its funzies

I think you are on to something with this part of your post. As you know, this doesn't mean it's smooth sailing from here on out - but it sounds like you may have found something effective for you - for now at least.

do you pulse your bart medication or take it everyday? I ask because I pulse mine and i wonder if its better to take everyday....

Have you thought about possibly taking a short break and doing candida treatment? You've been on a lot of abx and it's totally possible that some of your lasting symptoms could be it. Just a thought...So maybe it's not a lyme related herx but candida when you are introducing new abx.

I have done some rounds of Nystatin capsules...but not Diflucan. Not sure if I can even get Diflucan...my LLND doesn't think I need it. I am possible switching to another LLND though...maybe she will consider it.

I didn't think these symptoms could be Candida - shivers, nerve pain, vibrations.
Also no white tongue, no digestive issues (no bloating, no tummy ache, no diarrhea), no itchiness 'down below'.

I also am not craving sugar...

I'm so sorry you are going through all of this. I want so much to offer something to help you since you are so generous with all of us. Sadly, you are the expert and I have nothing to advise. This won't be popular but I think when the body is going though so much it may be best to stop everything for a few days and level out. Sounds like you have been on abx. for a long time. Would you consider 48 hours off of everything?
