MCV/MCH, Ferritin, Vitamin D and Lyme

Throughout the past 4-5 years, whenever I have had a blood test done, I had low levels of all four of these. The doctors just say everything looks good but I keep questioning if there is a connection with Lyme Disease. I have been tested for blood disorder and everything checked out fine. I have heard that people with Lyme have low Vitamin D but not really sure about the other 3.

ive certainly read that lyme likes to destroy ferritin (it doesn't eat it though like some viruses do) i ahve the same issue with my ferritin staying at the 9-15 mark. when i was feeling much better after my IV it shot up to 23 and i wasn't taking iron supplements.
im actually now starting on ferritin tablets to see if it helps again. is your B12 normal? mine is but i think low MCV/MCH is very typical of it progressing to anemia. What doctors say is normal with anemia and what actually is reality is not the same, i would encourage you to get a print out of your information and check out some of the anemia websites to check this isnt a big issue for you. anemia can mimic lyme and it may be a big part of your issue.

I had low vitamin D and low Ferritin.

I knew about the vitamin D, but just recently found out about low Ferritin.
Since then I looked back over lab work from a few years ago - pre diagnosis and see that my Ferritin was even lower than it is now.

It's 40 now - a few months ago it was 45 - a few years ago it was 26.

I have been taking iron supplements since I had the 45 result , but it actually dropped again...

Some bacteria and viruses utilize iron. Most people are low in vitamin D unless they supplement. However it becomes very important in illness because vitamin D has regulatory effects on the immune system.
