I was wondering if anyone else experienced their body temperature coming back up after treatment for lyme and co-infections. I am 9 months into treatment. I am wondering what is going on with my body. I've been having periods of sweating and raised elevated body temperature going up to a low grade fever (99.3) which I think might be related to herxing and treating babesia and bartonella along with continuing with lyme herbs. My core body temperature in Jan/Feb ranged from 96.7 to 97.2. Then it began to range with 97.4 at the top in May. Now it is starting to get at 97.7 and sometimes I am even in the 98 range. I know temperatures fluctuate during the day. I wondered if the sweating and such might be just the body re-regulating temperature. The body temperature began to rise more when I integrated sauna's, treatment for candida, fungus, babesia and bart. Also, change in diet with more good sorts of fats and animal protein. So, so, so curious.

I am not sure my experience is helpful to you.
I have been charting my body (basal temperature for ) almost 4 years...pre-lyme and during lyme.
Since I do not seem to suffer from co-infections...if I have them I am not showing symptoms....I have not have any changes of temperature. In 4 years I hit 99 only one day and it was pre flu...What I noticed is very low trend 96.20F I think that is due to estrogen and lyme de-regulating my thyroid.

Girlie - thank you! artermix - very helpful. Hmm... I intuitively felt something was wrong with my thyroid...but all the Dr.'s said no given my blood work. It makes sense this correlation between lyme and de-regulating the thyroid. One of the things I've integrated into my diet more recently is coconut oil for the GAPS diet, and also olive oil. Well I have been using coconut and extra virgin olive oil for years. I use the extra virgin oil even to bake cakes. If you remove EVERY single condiment & oil & butter from pantry that is all you need.

The best time to get an accurate reading of really what's going on is to take your temperature first thing upon waking in the morning. Do not get out of bed or do anything to provoke activity. It is your morning waking basal body temp that gives us a reading into our health.

Ignore the ovulation references. This is also used by thyroid patients to determine whether an adjustment is needed. If it's below 97.6 typically an adjustment is needed.

For adrenals - an average daily temperature is used. You take your temperature three times daily.

Interesting. Never had anyone reference taking it for adrenals. It's always a saliva test.

I saw this a few years ago when I was trying to figure out what was wrong with me...and I was reading the differences between thyroid and adrenal issues.

I'm thinking it's more of a 'self-diagnostic' tool... I don't know how accurate it is.
