Anyone feel that green tea causes herx?

I feel it may elevate symptoms....and im connecting this with herx which means it's helping in some way or another. Buhner also mentions a component in green tea for healing lyme. EEG or something like that.

Do you herx from green tea?

I'm sorry you are having a herx. What else are you taking/doing? I herx with almost everything -even Burber made me herx. However, I do have one cup of Rishi green tea each morning. It's very pure. I don't herx at all with it. I hope you feel better soon. Do you have Alka Seltzer Gold? I find that to be the fastest with a herx for me personally.

One more thought. Not all teas are processed the same way. Green tea used to upset my stomach and wasn't a match for me at all until I started with this one brand. You may be having something too acidic, too processed, etc...

I found an article on pubmed re: green tea. In that it looks as if it may have some anti-microbial activity - if it is killing a bunch inside of you, it is conceivable you would herx? https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC4138486/

GT does have anti-microbials, antioxidants and is a detoxer. Buhner talks about it in one of his books as ECEG good for lyme.

Make sure its caffeine free. Also lyme doesnt like really hot water.

I herxed on green tea. I got a burning hot flash. Other members thought it might be Babesia and it was! I drank a lot of green tea these past few months. Die, MOFOs. Babesia doesn't seem to be a problem anymore after 4 months on Buhner's herbs.

I also take the supplement, which is concentrated. Good anti-oxidant in general.

Huddie - good info on the green tea... I am going to integrate some decaf green tea.

If someone have adrenal issues, even decaf products can create issues, so do be careful to anyone using green tea that may have adrenal issues as well.

As Lymedriven noted, EGCG (which is from green tea) is used in the treatment of Bartonella.
