Recently started having these symptoms. This burning pain that lasts for a few seconds and goes away. Has anyone witnessed this in Lyme or co-infections? Also get muscle twitches. Is this virus like HSV? or fungal?

Tingling, numbness, burning, or stabbing sensations - all lyme symptoms.

I had what I called lightening bolts. They were sharp pains that came really quick and were gone. They made me jump. I hated those because they would come at the most inopportune times (especially around people that didn't know I had lyme).

PeteZa and All, I had/have lightening bolts too but only in my fingers. What was really creepy is when I started Malarone I got a lightening bolt in my pinkie and within a minute, the whole finger was black and blue - bruised.

Wow, Joanjet, that would be disturbing! Did anyone come up with an explanation for that?

Sam, as PeteZa said, those are normal symptoms for Neuro Lyme. Your nerves are being affected throughout your body, and you may have this happen to other parts of your body as well. Treatment and good detoxing will relieve these symptoms but do be sure to let your LLMD know. It may be an important piece of the puzzle to gaining your healing.

I just read the side effects of Malarone and bruising is listed.

So be careful.

I did not take Malarone, but I did do anti-inflammatory herbs and I found I bruised easily. I would look in the mirror as I was brushing my hair and there would be a nasty bruise on my arm. I had no idea when I bumped it.

Thanks for the reassurance about this PeteZa and Traveler. The thing is it gets better for a few days but then they always come back.

The cycling of symptoms is very common for these infections, unfortunately. The different bacteria have different 'schedules' on which they cycle too, so you may notice that some symptoms cycle every few days and others will cycle every week or so, and yet others will cycle every month or so.
