This is mainly for the women.
I am in the process of getting my thyroid optimal while treating the Lyme. I had my blood work done on Friday, so I am really curious to know if that has improved. I am feeling a tiny bit better and I have only been on antibiotics for 1 month, so I am thinking the NatureThyroid must be helping a little. I started it about 3-4 months ago and have gradually been increasing it; of course it can take months get the thyroid levels where they need to be.
I pretty much have no estrogen or progesterone. So many of the Lyme symptoms are also the same symptoms for hormone deficiencies/imbalances (anxiety/depression, night sweats, hot flashes, insomnia, etc.) . I don't know if my doctor will want to wait to address those or if we will start small doses of estrogen and/or progesterone and see how it goes.
I had a complete hysterectomy about 10 years ago. (I now wonder if all the female issues were due to Lyme.) My doctor recently took me off estrogen and progesterone because no matter what we did, nothing was helping. That is when he decided to test for Lyme. After being off the hormones for a while, I was tested and found I was at the bottom of the barrel with those.
Has anyone successfully been able to treat hormone deficiencies/imbalances while treating Lyme and co? I see him on Thursday and really want to discuss this with him. So, any knowledge or experience you can offer would be greatly appreciated. My appointment on Thursday is to address any co-infections and talk about next steps in treatment.
