I am currently trying an Omron electro therapy pain relief gizmo.

I did a dumb thing yesterday and tweaked my back. I got so out of shape dealing with lyme that I think I can go back to where I was pre-lyme and I am getting injured.

I know..... low and slow ..... even on exercise.

Anyway, have you tried this? Hubby just bought me one from Target. I put it on my back and obviously had it turned up too high (it only has 5 settings) and I about flew through the ceiling.

I quickly turned it down and I doing well, but holey smokes, what a jolt.

I will keep you posted. Just wondering if you have tried it.

Is it a TENS unit, PeteZa?

(sounds like it)

I did try a TENS unit - but I had nerve issues...not sore or tight muscles.
(It didn't help me...)

Yes it it a tens. And so far relief. But I have only had one session. I am about to do another.

My muscle spasm and put pressure my nerve.

I literally crawled to the bathroom while crying this morning.

Now after one session, I can at least walk to the bathroom with assistance.

Read page 31 of Dr B's guidelines (Second last paragraph) says:

"Ice (vasoconstriction) and electrical stimulation (muscle spasm and trauma) should not be used."

I discussed with my LLMD and was told to avoid use. It's not recommended if you have lyme infection.

If you do decide to use it on your back, avoid placing it on your spine.

Sounds like a good band aid till you get better. keep us posted.

can you stick them anywear or just on the flat of your back? hip , shoulder ect?

Astroman I have now done 2 treatments. The timer goes off in 15 minute intervals. You can stick them anywhere, elbow, shoulder, etc. I tried to go up to No. 2 (there are only 1-5 settings) and I can't handle no.2 yet.

But, I can walk now. I had to crawl to the bathroom this morning.

ChickNorris, I have no idea why no ice. I did ice all night long and Ibuprofen so I could sleep. I also did sports gel, which is a homeopathic gel.

Kirky - PeteZa is in remission...so I don't think it's contraindicated in her case.

I don't know if I had those lyme vibration symptoms, if I would want to do a tens unit. The tens tends to vibrate and to me, if you add that to lyme vibrations, that could really be annoying.

I would think a rife machine might be low pulsations and a tens is higher pulsations even though this unit operates on 2 tiny, tiny batteries.

I saw some other brands at wallyworld, was skeptical at the similar low prices.

Always liked the Tens units chiros used on my low back/SI before adjusting me when I was super tight. Never herxed or anything from them.

I think they would be good to ward of a spasm if you feel one "building up". I could usually tell a day or two before the big one hit.

Yes!! That is it and I am right now doing my third treatment of the day.

I am still on the No. 1 setting, but gosh I can now walk without my walking sticks to the bathroom!!!

I hope this helps you as much as it did me!

I'm feeling pretty good now, but something like that is good to have around, and at that price. Still might be good for later recovery therapy too.

I have a cheap ultra sound- not nearly as effective as the pro units, but it was worth $100.

Is it your piriformis area again?

No, that got healed and now I just did my low back muscle. I was being a weekend ninja and acting younger than I am and more fit than I am.

I need so much work because of lyme. I am so out of shape!!! And if you are out of shape and forget that, you tend to "overdo."
