Lemon Juice

Hey fellow lymies,

Need an opinion on lemon juice. I really like to have several glasses of water a day with fresh squeezed lemon for detoxing. I feel like this is the detox that works the best for me, even though I do many things, this one I feel some relief quickly. May not clear everything up, but within 15 minutes I feel like the flu feeling lifts.

I always squeeze a lemon fresh into my glass. But sometimes I am really too sick to even do that much, and most of the time the joints in my hands are painful and I don't have the strength to squeeze a lemon. So on a really bad day, when I could really use a lemon water for detox, I am in such a nasty way, I just lay on the couch like a dead sloth and don't move a muscle to help myself. Pathetic, but it happens every time.

I have a juicer. Can I throw a bunch of lemons into the juicer, peel and all, and save it in the fridge for a few days? Then when I am at my worst, all I have to do is pour some juice into my water. Will it still have the same benefit. What about the peel? If I scrub the lemons, is the peel okay, or are there too many pesticides on them? I am not sure if I have seen organic lemons in the market where I shop, but I am heading to the market where I shop that has the largest variety (wegmans) today and fingers crossed I find them there.

I use this and you can get it from Amazon. With 2 of us doing lemon juice, it is the best for our pocket book. We live 45 minutes from a store that has organic juice, so we do the amazon thing. Pure organic juice and it keeps well in our fridge.

Doesnt Apple Cider Vinegar work in the same way. Ofcourse make lemons your first choice and have ACV as your back up on those days you are time poor and exhausted.

I order organic lazy lemon. It's organic lemon juice in those lemon looking bottles. I squeeze into water and never have to cut a lemon. I forget the brand but they are sold in most food stores and health food stores (east coast I'm in NYC)

Feel better. I'm sorry you are so weak. Green tea and Eleuthero help so much with energy. Maybe give them a try.

Absolutely. I hate Real Lemon and it has sulfites and preservatives. Tastes awful too.

Organic lazy lemon is 100% pure, fresh lemon.

Wow thank you everyone for your suggestions. I didn't realize that they sold organic preservative free lemon juice. I looked around my grocery store today and did find it! Yay!

Huddie thank you for the green tea and eleuthero suggestion for energy. I will give them both a try. Is the eleuthero the same thing as siberian gensing?

As Girlie has already mentioned yes it is. I am very sensitive to anything that is a stimulant and Elu. doesn't do that to me at all. I know everyone is different but if that is a concern please don't worry about it. It's not like a fast coffee buzz or anything. Gentle but does the trick.
