Is this a herx? Nothing helps really. I sip on lemon water but that just makes it feel worse. Charcoal doesn't help. Nearly everything I eat makes it worse. Is this just my body adjusting to treatment?

I could be anything, you should ask your Doctor and get some tests.
I have stomach issues myself. The blood test was negative for H Pylori( the main bug for a stomach ulcer) but there are others that can create problems, like parasites and coxsackie b. Lyme does mess with your digestive system and puts the balance off. I get relief taking slippery elm and extra virgin pine nut oil. There are some herbs I am taking that trigger it off. Milk thistle is the worse. So for me its about balance. If I take the other stuff I can take milk thistle. If I dont need to take milk thistle I dont have any pain.
Have a look at what you are taking and their side effects. You may find something and if there is anything that may stir up stomach issues go without it for a few days and see how you feel.
I dont think it would be a herx.

Chick - do you have Alka Seltzer gold? I'm wondering if that would help your stomach.

I don't know if it is a herx. If you don't have any other symptoms ramping up...then Im thinking it's probably not a herx.

Did it start soon after you went on antibiotics? Are you still on the doxy? Doxy can be hard on the stomach.

If your sig. line is still accurate with what you are taking, you need to eat before you take your Doxy - as Girlie said, Doxy can be hard on the stomach. Some people have to 'sandwich' the Doxy by eating about half a meal and then taking the Doxy and then finishing their meal.

It did start when I started doxy. I have a hard time in general eating in the morning, I'm just not that hungry usually. And for some reason I thought I had to take doxy on an empty stomach! I am paranoid that anything I eat or supplements I take will interfere with it. Is there anything that DOES interfere with doxy?

Food does interfere with Doxy, but not much - and we take high doses compared to most, so the goal is to protect the stomach. We only have one of those! wink

I'm not that good with abx and the use of them, so I'll let someone else that has that information on it help you find your answers. Be patient please, as the forum has slowed down some.

On a side note, are you treating or have adrenal issues I ask because when we are under physical or mental stress and not having an appetite in the am often points to adrenal fatigue. Just wondering.

I'm not on Doxy, and now I'm trying to figure out what's up with my stomach, or abdominal area. I at least have the quadrant narrowed down.
My sympathies to you!

Where approximately is your pain coming from? Center, left, right, low, high?

I have been tested, the saliva test. Still waiting on those results.

You shouldn't take magnesium with it..

I think that may be the problem...empty stomach and doxy...

I so agree! I will force myself to eat a bit before I take it and see if that helps!
