To Everyone

I just wanted to say that the best gift I have been given for this and any Christmas are the Angels here and along the path that have helped me help my son start to heal.

Last Christmas we were at the ER waiting for a brain CT scan. Since treatment and advice from the people here, I am sitting here listening to my son laugh along with his friend.

We aren't out of the woods but I have spent almost every night for 6 months looking on this forum. When I was panicking, people came to my help and kindly shared their knowledge and concern.

I am soo thankful and grateful for all of your help, from the bottom of my heart.

I wish everyone healthy and happy holidays.

Lymiemomster - to know that one more child doesn't have to grow up with these infections makes my heart soar!! Congratulations on seeing these improvements in your son!!! Truly one of the best possible Christmas presents is to see improvements in our children's health!!

I am sitting here crying over your post. I'm so happy for you. I loved reading about your son playing and laughing. The simple things we take for granted every single day.

You have helped me and my so SO MUCH - so please know, you are already paying it forward.

Thank you for sharing what a difference a year can make. You have given me hope, sort of like the 'ghost of Christmas future.' I hope my son is where your son is a year from now. It is hard to imagine that right now. I am especially grateful for this post during Christmas. My son is so sad and keeps saying he has no spirit and this will be the worst Christmas ever.

Dear Trav (head angel) You are all angels!

When things were really dark I knew I could always come here and someone would understand. And I would look back and see people who have improved and it keeps you going. I feel abandoned by the regular medical system but feel totally supported here. People here understand this crazy horrible disease and offer empathy and knowledge.

My son is still very sick, but I really haven't heard him laugh in over a year. He's reading, doing a bit of homework, eating lol. We are talking about going back to regular school in February!!

To outsiders this doesn't sound like much but I know you guys understand.

We still have a long road of tx but now we have hope and that makes all the difference. I really owe it all to everyone here.
